something fishy going on?

well i checked the electrical gremlin hub (the white box behind kick panel) and notice close to nothing as far as corrosion, but when i was driving home today after just washing her at work... my wipers came on and didn't stop until i turned the car off at a red light and then started back up??? hmm no idea, also it had happened before and then quickly stopped itself... also back a while ago when i relocated my radio to the slot below, and mounted my mitsu gauges on top, i noticed now that without the key in the ignition and i turn my headlights on, that my dash does not light up? all other lights work such as the a/f boost guages (aftermarket), and HVAC controls??? lastly i noticed if i leave my headlights switch left on, and turn off the car the alarm sounds letting me know my lights are on, and shorly after it stops alarming me and my headlights quickly turn off, as if i have auto lights??? WTF???? any ideas???

Irrelevant to your post, but where do you work?

And separately have you checked connections, fuses and looked over everything for any moisture?

i work at a car dealership out in clarence, and i really wouldn't have the slightest whereabouts to even start looking over everything... i'd much rather take it into the dealership...

this is an 8 isnt it? ive heard the have lots of electrical problems. i know the one thing thats simular to your problem that has happend to me was my radio will just turn off and then just start on its own again. maybe when you relocated the radio there were some open wiring or something. most problems are usually visual. if i were you i would take off the cover where the guages are and look for anything unusual.

Funny thing is that of all the EVOS ive seen with this issue just as many have been IX's as VIII's. It's not VIII IX specific

It all comes down to the grommet seal where the harness goes through into that inner fender.

OP if your wipers a screwy this is 100% your problem get out your solder gun and have fun

Do to a loose positive voltage wire or an improper ground.

If you want to find this on your own (sans dealership), then get out a voltage meter. When they come on start with the wires going to the wipers and trace it back. Find where the wiper control module is. It may be going out.

i'd much rather get another pigtail of those wires, and install it... but my main concern is if my wipers are going off its 100% that area coming from the fender correct??? ill have to check the connectors again... if i unplug the connectors will i get lights on my dash, or should i disconnect the battery???

Do you have any aftermarket alarm installed or is it factory? If it's aftermarket alarm, the possible person could have left some bare wire exposed to trigger some of those things.

It might be your light/wiper module in your steering wheel. The wiper wire is a positive trigger, so if it was a corroded wire a negative ground would pop the fuse.

If you disconnect it you will get an airbag light. You will have to have the dealer reset it or unless you know someone that can do it for you.
