Any ideas on the best way to remove graphics from the trunk lid?

The previous owner of my car put some cheesy lettering on the trunk lid. It looks like they stenciled out lettering in some sort of clear one sided adhesive plastic/vinyl and then spray painted it silver. I am just looking for ideas on ways to get it off without damaging the paint underneath. Thanks for any advice.

Hairdryer, Goo Remover, lots of time - go slow. Wax and polish when done.

Ok, I had given that idea a thought but was concerned about damaging the paint with the heat gun but I guess that will be ok than. Thanks for the tips.

Be very careful using a heat gun. The last thing you want to do is burn through the paint. I would try a hairdryer first along with goo gone. Just take your time and you should be fine.

acetone, thiner but you have to go easy. Rince with water. After buff and polish. 99% alcohol work great too, but not easy to find, ask your local drug store.

Thanks for the advice guys, used a whole lot of Goo Gone, an ice scraper and a little patience and its all cleanly off with no damage what so ever to paint or any sign that it was ever there. Wish I hadn't put it off for so long if I knew it was going to be that easy.

Deffinetly goo gone, and a heatgun, just dont hold it over to long, and move it around constantly.

Paint thinner works too.. lol.. but not for mitsubishi's paint.. ^_^ I use it on toyotas at my dads shop all the time, and the paint is never HURT... :P

But evo.. yeah.. paint = phailure sometimes

Who in the world would paint their trunk using stencil?? Anyway, hope you got it out fine. I'm thinking about removing my small EVOLUTION badge too...
