11 Common Sense Tips to help you KEEP your Warranty
11 Common Sense Tips to help you KEEP your Warranty
97itr153's 11 "Common Sense" Rules for NOT getting your Evo's WARRANTY DENIED !!!
1.
Remove license plates and cover VIN # at ALL track events
2.
Don't put PERMANENT (hard to remove) MODS on your car. Or follow MY example and don't Mod your car at all ! Remove easy to spot mods/add-ons like Harness's and Radar Detectors before each service
3.
Don't ABUSE the car at the Track. Don't run 20 consecutive hard laps during a session. Follow proper "warm-up" and "cool-down" procedures. Don't use the handbrake after a track session (warped rotors). Check fluids color and levels after every session, Engine Oil, Tranny Oil, Brake Oil, Etc. Just because you have a Warranty, does NOT give you the right to do whatever you want!
4.
Follow Maintence Schedule 100% using only
dealer
5.
NEVER mention "RACING" at the
dealership
6.
Whenever possible, say that the problem became progressively worse over time. Don't say "it suddenly broke as I was doing a 100 in a 35 zone!"
7.
Try different
dealerships during oil changes and get a feel for the kind of people that work there. When a part breaks, go to the
dealership with the most accomodating Service Manager.
8.
For suspension, brake problems, wait (if possible) till winter when you have your "unscuffed"
winter tires on the car.
9.
Have your "Wife" take the car in if she is listed as a "co-owner". I'm assuming you are a MALE of course
10.
If Warranty is denied, QUIETLY leave and go to a different dealership. If ALL dealerships deny Warranty, Only then talk to
Corporate
11.
DO NOT post on this messageboard with you real NAME, ADDRESS, etc.
