Do i need to use mit power steering only? or has anybody used anything different.??

 

i used Valvoline. Works fine for DD.

 

I've got some auto zone special stuff in there right now (changed the fluid because I thought I had a bad ps pump) Turns out the pump is ok, had a low idle. So far the fluid seems fine in there.

 

I was in Fort Collins, Colorado, and stopped at the Mitsubishi dealer (no dealer around here) and bought a jug of power steering fluid. When I got home I found I was sold automatic transmission fluid. So there's your Mitsu power steering fluid.

 

I was in the same situation. I went to mitsu and they gave me universal stuff for 9 bucks which was only 5 at autozone. I told them I wanted mitsu fluid and they said they only carry universal stuff for power steering.

 

wow, is this a scam? bogus if u ask me.

 

So you used just any standard power steering fluid? has anyone tried the amsoil power steering fluid?

 

I bought some redline to top off and keep full for the future. Its been working fine. I only needed to add a bit, it was only slightly low.

 

how often do you guys change out power streering fluid?

 

I don't of any reason to ever do it unless you have the system apart and drained.

based on what i have researched its good to change it every 50000miles
