Contact for Mitsubishi Special Tools

Background: I ordered a set of Vishnu Cam Gears as part of my Stage 1 kit and I noticed that to install my cam gears I would need a special tool. The Mitsubishi Tech Info Manual stated a MD998738 was need to relax the cam tensioner to allow removal of the cam gears w/o having to remove the lower cover of the timing belt. I called my local Mitsubishi dealer, Barrett Mitsubishi, and they said they will not sell special tools to individuals because then people would fix there own cars?!? Undeterred I looked for a source for Mitsubishi Special Tools.

Contact for Mitsubishi Special Tools:
SPX OTC - 1-800-533-5338
http://www.otctools.com/

I didn't find what I needed online but when I called in they had the part I needed in stock. BTW, it cost $34.

Hope this helps because I could not find any information about Mitsubishi Special Tools on this forum.

a lot of tools in tech manuals state 'special tool', but a lot can be found in specialty shops. i've purchased several 'special tools' at www.mytoolstore.com you just need to figure out the common name for the tool.
