JDM Hi Power exhaust for Evo 8. Note that the tip are more straight and it stick further out than the USDM one.

Another view of JDM HKS Hi Power exhaust from the rear. In fact the pipe are totally different since the JDM one need to bend a few more times to get around the Super AYC.

However, the bushing location remains the same and it is a bit easier to install.

By the way, thanks the guys in GB Motorsports (Gino, Andrew, and Mike) for the quick and professional service and explains the difference between the JDM vs USDM exhaust.

It is simply amazing that in such a short time these guys already done several USDM and JDM install....

The yellow and silver Evo are still using the stock downpipe for now.

what the crap...why do you have to move all that around? that sux really, you'd think that if the jdm version would work that the usdm one would work too. when you say you have to move these bushings, can you just unbolt them and bolt them somewhere else, or do you have to buy other stuff to make it fit?

leif,

All the extra brackets do come with the whole package. I think HKS is trying to minimize the number of bends in the pipe, that's why you will have to add 2 brackets to the frame. You will be using the same 2 bushings that came with the car but just change their repective locations. Hope this helps!!!

Actually the mounting kit shown in the pics comes with the exhaust as well so it's not that big of a deal. That's just some details for installing the exhaust but you got instructions for all these when you purchase the exhaust.

The difference in time to install a USDM or JDM Hi-power exhaust shouldn't be much, probably less than 3 minutes. The extra time for USDM ones is to bolt on the mounting kits (2 metal plates) and then put the bushing on, before hooking up with the exhaust.

You might need to call HKSUSA for details, but I believe they tried to make the pipe more straight so that the flow is more free.

Hope that address your concern

I think that this looks much better than the USDM version of the exhaust. It is centered and dumps the exhaust gases away from the bumper cover.
