Actually the preferred tune is a street tune since it replicates everyday driving experiences.

I'm shocked to hear this, perhaps your e-mail didn't make it to me for some reason. I've responded to everything I've ever received. sorry

Mellon can you tell me how you will know when you have reached MBT when tuning on the street? Or are you advancing till it knocks and pull timing, I hope not. You can get a average map from streettuning is my opinion. If you set up the car correctly on a dyno it will be perfectly on the streets as well.

I'll let my track times do the talking, tuning was done on the street

I know you have a fast car, no doubt about that, but that still doesn't answer my question.

MBT if I'm not mistaken is Maximum Brake Torque. Or the most torque possible per given rpm.

To achieve this wouldn't you increase the timing out until advancement is not making anymore power or the car picks up some knock. Then back it off a degree or two for saftey. OK

Now why can't this be done on the street using DLL software???

I don't know how accurate the DLL software is, but lets assume for now it is, then you will be doing this for each cell in the map, just how long do you think you will be busy doing this?? weeks??? for one map?? And that is if this software is accurate.

You have some valid points.

it takes me about 2-4 hours to road tune a car and that's not just focusing on WOT...that's everything. It can take much longer if a car has mechanical issues of course (boost leaks, faulty mbc, bov, plugs etc...) Sure, I could do it much more quickly but I refuse to hand out canned tunes which are once size fits all like some of the other guys.

There's a reason I'm able to do this is my full time job...I'm pretty good at it
