Going from heavily modded s4 to evo8.......

whats up. i am new to the forum and am in the process of selling my s4. i plan on getting a evo in black. i want to do 18inch hres or kinesis(centers painted black with polished lip), coilovers, brakes,
interior(seats, custom suede), trans work(clutch, flywheel, etc)
and everything that buschur racing makes, hks turbo kit, jun stroker. i basically want the car built as soon as i get it.
is it possible to hit 10s with this setup. show me some of the best products for this vehicle. dislikes and likes

I went from a modded S4 to a black evo, I don't miss the S4 that much. It seems like you have a plan, and you must know how much your about to spend carrying out said plan. I can help you out with your goal if you want. Your looking at about 20k on top of cost of car as it stands right now.

There is a very good chance that you'll hit 10's with your set up, AMS did 11.8 on a stock turbo.

If things keep up there's going to be a major AudiWorld contingent here!

In my opinion, the only way to get a fast, reliable car is to modify slowly, get the car running perfectly with each mod, and then move on to the next step.

Modifying everything at once is a great way to get a car that runs like crap.

I was also an S4 owner(x2), my first one a Nagaro blue like yours, and the second a black on black.

I had some minor mods like exhaust, ECU, shift linkage and Dv's, but nothing like your current state of mods on your S4. That is a really nicely done car btw.

Having said all of that, I really do not miss either of my S4's at all, they just semed like ultra-fast luxury cars to me and isolated you too much from the road-feel. The Evo on the other hand is pure performance, and the potential is massive. You already know that though, so sorry for being somewhat repetitious.

I think with the mods you are talking about, you should be hitting the streets with one bad-*** Evo. Low 11's for sure I would think. Keep us posted as your efforts continue!

I'm another Audiworld convert. Traded my black 2001 S4 in July for a new silver Evo. I'm currently running the Vishnu Stage 1 kit.
My buddy is trading his black S4 for a new Evo on Friday.

The Evo is so much cheaper to modify. The Vishnu signature turboback is probably the most expensive system, but it cost less than a set of 3" S4 downpipes alone. You can run 12's in the Evo for under $2,000. You would need a $6,000 Stage 3 setup for the Audi.

Wow, this sort of defection rate should speak volumes to Volkswagen Audi of America if they ever chose to listen.

I dumped my laser red 2000 S4 this past weekend.

Hey DEL TURBO

Yup, the deal goes down Friday. Very busy taking things off the S4 before Friday and selling/shipping - ugh!
I learned a lot from modding the S4 - there is a lot I won't do!!

Heh,

Nothing to contribute to your actual question, way outta my league.

But, I did go from an Audi as well, albeit a lowly A4.

Good luck!
