Do Evos come with a magnetic oil drain plug?

Its raining outside so i figured just easier to ask!!

Does an 04 Evo8 GSR come with a magnetic oil drain plug, or is that an atermarket item?

Also, is there any problems with a cheap autozone oil filter, or do u go for a particular model?

I was taught a long time ago to fill the oil filter with oil before putting it on to prevent a second of no oil. You guys believe that?

I have been using the Mobil 1 oil filters from Autozone now since 04. I think it is the M108. I have had no problems at all with them.

i was always taught to put oil in the filter when putting in, and do it everytime.
i never questioned why, but i guess it makes sense what you said.

No it is not. The engine oil drain plug is NOT magnetic.

The transfer case, transmission and rear diff plugs are magnetic.

aha. Im buying a mean neodymium magnet today and im just going to slap it on to the oil pan. So it just occured to me, if u have an aluminum block, there is no point to the magnet. Whats our blocks made of?
