No problems with evo.
Well the first time the clutch blew I had: AMS 3" catback, cone air filter, Greddy Profec-B Spec-I boost controller, S-AFC II ans some small stuff. Also 2 visits to the drag strip
The six puck : The above mods + UR 3" DP and TP, changed out S-AFC II for a Greddy E-Manage w/ ignition harness, HKS 264/272 cams, AMS FMIC.
About the motor, we think there were 2 reasons why the motor blew, it could be one or the other, or maybe both. The first is that the factory head studs are not strong enough to support all the exta power. The second is that the ignition timing control harness on the E-Manage is not compatible with the EVO 8 (Greddy said this themselves) It would randomly advance the timing and push the head gasket which then allowed coolant to mix with he oil to the point where it won't lube anymore
Well I hope that answers all your questions. I might be leaving some stuff out, but thats cuz it's 8 in the morning. If I did, I'll edit it later.

These are the #'s I expected, for a while I thought I had the one in a million Evo that didn't have problems, now I definately don't have any worries about my beast. Thanks everyone for posting here and proving my point to everyone one that says the Evo is junk. Because so far anyways it looks like 86% of us don't have any complaints about our beautiful Evo's
16,800 miles with no problems. I have done more than several track days (beat the **** out of it), and many hard launches. I have a full 3" exhaust, EBC 19-20PSI, K&N, 280WHP.
I am on my second set of tires and brake pads, other than the occasional noise (IMO normal for such a high performance car) it has run flawlessly.

I I guess I'll vote now, because I will be modifying my car very soon. This will probably be the last week that my car is stock.
I have owned the car for 2 months and 1 day. I picked it up with only 8 miles on the odometer. It now has just over 7700 miles (yeah, I drive it a lot. I have no problems, stock tires (75% tread left) stock brakes (about the same) stock clutch (feels like day 1) and stock everything else...for a few more days.
I am not babying this car in the slightest. I broke the car in like they told me to. Then, at 800 miles, I had the oil changed. Oil was changed and tires were rotated at 3,750 miles. The transmission, transfer case, and differential were drained and refilled at 6,000 miles. Oil was changed and tires rotated at 7,500 miles. Car has never been launched, never ground a gear, never missed a shift, always speed matched rpm's, always left in gear while braking, always idled before shutting it down. I have taken the car past 7,000 rpm's on numerous occasions. The highest I went was around 8,300, while I was curious as to where fuel cut would actually kick in. At 8,300 rpm's, I still didn't hit it, so I backed off...hehehe.
Not only do I have no problems with this car, I also have no complaints.
