No problems with evo.
MY car has been solid. 14K miles, about 7 (full day) formal track days, about 6 shorter (2-4 hour) informal test track sessions for datalogging, and losts of long trips. Oh, I managed to get it stuck pretty well on a beach once, too.
No major problems, a couple of minor annoyances (cheap heater controlls, paint chips, etc.). So far my car has been great. I drive it hard, but don't beat on it. Oh, the clutch is definitly more "slippy" than alot of the other cars I've owned; I do have to be a bit careful about that.

im at 12k - id say prolly 15+ good hard launches ( not counting 5 runs at the track so far)
and between me and my buddy- LOTS OF spirited driving.
NO ISSUES so far, thank you very much.
only problems ive had are stupid stuff like ppl keying the car and slamming their doors into mine....- and birds really seem to like crapping on it. other than that- my tires are a little worn- but only on the sides from cornering windy mountain roads at 80-120
i have video- im gonna post soon~

Amazing - 84% of the Evos (including modded ones) with NO problems. This is what I've been saying all along. You are always going to have 1-2% of cars with some problems, no matter who the mfg is. The rest is a combination of bad luck, driver error, etc. Notice that almost every owner that complains of a bad clutch has either a) drag-raced their Evo or b) launches hard on the street all the time. The VERY few of you that had bum clutches - I feel for you. BTW, 12,800 miles and counting, lots of mods, auto-x, canyon runs, cross-country drive, stop and go traffic, etc. - NO PROBLEMS.
6000 miles and the brakes pulsate like mad, even after the dealer turned the rotors (I am replacing the pads next). A pillars squeek like an 89' camaro with 100,000 miles on it. Burning clutch smell after hard launches (yes, I know how to friggin drive a friggen stick). Even though this is still the most bang for the buck I am considering trading it in.
3700 miles, never tracked, never launched, just lots of spirit. Had to have new rotors and pads installed under warranty.
. Good service from Mitsu though

I havent had any problems yet, however I have less boost than before when standing on the gas in 1st gear & running up through the gears. I believe there might be a problem with the boost solenoid valve. Boost isnt an issue in 3rd on up due to the slower rev increase / air demand.

I have 9300 miles on mine.
The car has been:
Jumped - Railroad tracks
To four moutain runs, including Deals Gap
Daily Driven to work, traffic is not fun
Raced at VIR with only 400 miles on the clock
Made the run from Atlanta to Greensboro, NC in 3.75 hours
And still dynoed at 222hp and 250 torque two weeks ago
No problems, and the clutch feels new.

Took it in for 15K service today, had snow tires put on and the dealer couldn't believe the stock Advans were worth saving they still had decent tread left. Sure I've only owned it 4 months but I haven't had one problem. I've started double clutching every downshift and the clutch is working beautifully. This car has been my most reliable car. But the more I read evom, the more I wait for something to go wrong, but it hasn't happened.
a little grinding but..
i chalk that up to my driving style..i had the same problem in my wrx. I think i just need to stop shifting from 1st-2nd so fast
also the stick feels a lot different than the wrx... i keep putting it in 3rd thinking its in first...better than the other way around!
im sure ill get used to it.
400 miles in 8 days... going for 1200 in 18 days...
cant wait to floor it.

Why do you complain of a burnt clutch if you are launching the car? Don't you realize that you are making it do this? That is like power braking a Corvette and then complaining about all the tire smoke. I'd rather the clutch be the fuse in the drivetrain rather than the transmission or the tires. Tires are used for more thnigs than just acceleration grip, and the tranny, well, I just don't want to replace one of those just yet.
