This rings in my car too...does anyone have any pictures of the fix, or where the white spring piece goes? I also found that on my floor like the OP

I'm bringing this back up. I'm trying to fix this problem and pulled the steering column cover off and it's not straight forward to me where the key sense switch is. I have the 06 detailed service manual and it's not straight forward looking at that what I should be messing with (I also looked up turbo timer install instructions to see if that helped which it didn't). Can someone post a couple pics to help me along? Is the 'key sense switch' called something else in the service manual? Much appreciated.

The switch is held in by two screws and is activated when the key is turned. If you can take some detailed pics maybe we can point you where it is.

i just called the dealership and they said it'd be covered under warranty if it was a defective part and it wasn't because of any aftermarket parts. technically they shouldn't replace it for me. he said it'd be 110 bucks to check it out to see what was wrong, if they decided they won't cover it, i owe them that. if warranty does cover it, i owe nothing and get it fixed. what do you guys think i should do? take it in and risk the money or let it be?

If you want to completely gamble and probably end up throwing $110 away, go for it lol

well i do live in vegas so gambling is my thing haha

i actually think i might have a connection with the GM of a mitsu dealer out here so i'll see if they can "accidentally" not find the cause of it being broken
