Bummer. Paint and metal isn't going to be less than $1500 at a good shop.

Does anybody have an idea how much it would cost to get a new door? I would need the window and everything.

Also, I live in Ohio and have Progressive insurance. My deductable is $500. If I filed the claim, I'm assuming my premium would go up. Can anybody confirm this?

Car is 2006 Evolution IX SSL, Apex Silver.

Thanks in advance.

How do you like Progressive? I'm searching for an Evo to buy now and they quoted me $226/mo for 6months. That's not too bad seeing as how Geico quoted me $5xx/mo for the same car.

Although they said after the 6 months the price could change. Have you been with them longer than 6 months, and if so how much did it go up?

Been with them a while. We pay about $2500/6 months for 4 cars (3 with comprehensive) and house. Not bad considering my driving record stinks.

Same thing happened to me not too long ago. Some ******* backed into my drivers door, took off. Thing could barely close, he totally crushed the handle, had to get in through the passenger side. All that was damaged though was a door. Ended up costing $1900 at a good body shop. Insurance covered it, i paid my deducitble.

UPS is sending a check for $186 to me. Not bad I guess considering I paid $300 shipped for the door and didn't get it insured...

I recently had someone back into my rear passanger door also. I went thu my insurance and thy had to replace the door but not the glass. They had to paint the door and blend the adjacent door and quarter panel. The total was almost $2800.00. Now I used a premium bodyshop that works on Porches and BMW's so my paint is perfect. I wouldn't let any ole bodyshop do the work. You might be able to find a door and drop the cost but still it will need to be painted to match. oh I got a OEM door, no aftermarket BS.

wao considering your car value is around 18 to 20k
2800 is like what
over 10% of the car value just for the door
wao
that price is steep
