This happened to me twice last week on 100+ degree days. It was very frustrating.

I have the same problem too. I get kinda stuck in there, but it never took me over a 5 min to get it out. It's annoying, but I can live with it I guess.

I had a problem with my rx-7 only to find out one of the teeth on the key was slightly bent. Got a hammer and no problems anymore.

Sounds to me like everyone's Evo wants to be driven. Everyone's car is sending them a message by holding on to the keys in the ignition as tightly as she can.

I have been having this problem as well, but I noticed my key is slightly bowed so I am pretty sure that is what was causing the problem in my case

Key stuck

My 2010 evo x gsr is brand new and it does that too, since day one! A little annoying, but I find also turning the wheel a bit back and forth works.

Mine does that as well.
Usually I put it back to position 2 and turn QUICKLY to position 0 pass position 1!
Annoying.... and embarassing sometimes.

Same thing here.
Powdered graphite did the trick for me.

Don't use WD-40, as it will remove the graphite that's already in the keying mechanism. Use powder graphite as a lubricant. Can be found at Autozone. I've only ever had to use this on my cars that had 150k plus miles.

I have never experienced this on my EVO.
