I had this exact same problem and it was very bad. Happened everytime I tried to get the key out and was very embarrassing when it happened in front of people.

I went to Napa and got some powder graphite. Lubed up the key and squirted some in the ignition tumbler. Then slid the key in- out several times and turned to igniton position and back several times. It worked perfect!!! no more issues and key comes smoothly right out. Powder graphite is the fix for this problem.

I had sever issues with my key not turning on the driver door of my S14 and a nice shot of wd40 fixed everything. Don't know how I would feel about spraying that in my ignition though (or inside my car).

Only happens to mine when it's hot, I'll give graphite lube a shot.

Mine does this too, but i removed a ton of weight off my keyring and lubed it with WD40 Silicone and it works great now.

I just assumed that it was an annoyance feature that came from the factory as every Evo I've owned has had this issue.

Happen to me once in a while.. I guess I'll try graphite lube instead of WD40.

i wouldn't use wd-40,or if i did i wouldn't use much.

This sucks... Key stuck

I was fixing a starting issue my evo vii was having where it would click and click and click then finally turn over, by simply replacing the ignition switch behind the ignition cylinder where your key go's into. After I had replaced that I went to go pull out of my driveway and my steering wheel locked up...? So I pulled back into the driveway and tried turning off my car and my key wont come out of the ignition? So now I'm in a pickle... My key wont come out and my steering wheel is locked... Any suggestions?
