Evos and Infant/Child Car Seats

Funny question I know...

But since it has been established that the AGE range of EVO owners vary from 16 - 70..

I wanted to see if any of you EVO Daddy's out there have used your EVO to transport your "rug rats" here and there and if the backseat can actually fit a CHILD or INFANT car seat without moving the front seats forward and killing your knees..? I understand the EVO is LATCH equipped to pacify DOT regs....

I have a "rug rat" (bless her little heart) and she may want to ride in my potential "EVO" but I haven't checked the backseat dimensions yet.

Yeah I know.... having a "baby" seat in an EVO would NOT look "cool"...but I'm wondering if they CAN fit.

On a side note: I wonder if RECARO makes racing "booster" or "infant" seats for kids? LOL

Proud father and EVO owner here . Plenty of backseat room! -which is why I chose the EVO vs. STI/WRX. As a father, I could car less what people think about the car seat.

You're in luck, Recaro does make a car seat..

At $300+ , I think I'll pass. GRACO does have a booster seat that closely matches interior (black w/blue inserts) for a lot less.

I have four grandchildren and the child and infant seats fit with ease. The rear seat is well desgined for that with nice anchors on the rear shelf. Even thought it's performance may indicate otherwise, the Evo is after all a four door sedan not a sports car or coupe'. I take it you are not being serious with the racing seat for your children question. FWIW I think my grandbabies are much cooler than my car.

Actually AlphaOmega we have looks really cool - same color scheme! Fits just fine; however I noticed when in the middle, it seems to tilt away from the belt under spirited cornering. Best position seems to be outboard. I guess if you use tether it would be fine anywhere. EVO is after all a 4-door family sedan - at least that's my story and I am sticking to it (Sorry, Colin).

Our 2 year-old would rather drive in the "cool car" - that's what he calls it - then our ML any day

Oh, and Yes, Recaro does make booster and infant car seats - got $$$?

i drive my sister kids on a daily basis and i have no complaints. they do have a baby seat with side bolsters and matches the color scheme perfect. i get nothing but respect when people see the cool baby seat in my car and i know that the kids love to ride in it.

I've got a 20 month old, as well as as 2 week old. Both fit great.

Here is a pic of the seat I have for the 20 month old

Got a 2 year old and a 2 week old. Everyone fits fine. Bought the car because it was the only car that gave me the performance for dollar that I wanted.

The big back seat was a huge selling point for me over the STi. I have an 18-month old that sits in between his two older brothers in his LATCH attached child seat. The oldest is almost nine. They have tons of room back there. We love our Evo.

I too am an EVO dad. My kids are 5, 3 and 2 yrs old. I had a 03 WRX for 3 months and traded it in because there was not enough room in the back seats and I found footprints on the back of the front seats everyday. The EVO has plenty of room in the back and that was one thing I pointed out to my wife before I purchased my EVO.
