Need Some Help

Hi, I need some help here. My had a problem and what's happening is that it won't idle. It'll start if I give it gas, and continue to gas it. Even at low RPM like 1K or so, it'll still idle. But once I let off the gas, the engine will die.

Well I figure that it was ICV aka idle air control valve. Well I paid $360 to get a new one. Put it in and it worked. HOWEVER after test driving the car and the engine warms up. The engine will shut off again! Now the car still won't idle.

I checked all the vacuum hose, and I even got a new ICV that near bankrupt me. Do you guys know what else can be wrong?

Well it can't be boost leak because the car was running fine before the ICV gave. I've thought of it and did check all of the IC pippings as well.

My mods are HKS drop in filter, HKS exhaust, Tomei Elbow and Downpipe. All of these mods where in for like 20K miles before this problem occured.

No I don't have a wideband.

I don't think it's bad injectors, bad gas or bad maf. The thing is that it'll start when I give it a little gas and will stay on if I continue to gas it. I don't mean reving it either. It'll stay on even if I let idle stay around 1K RPM. But once I let off the gas, the engine will shut off. There's no smoke, or anything either.

If your having problems under 1k...find a tactrix cable and download ecu flash and raise the idle rpm to 1k

There should be an idle stop switch, and a full throttle switch. There are are many fuel injected cars. I don't know if our evo's have both separately or use the throttle position switch for idle, full throttle and all in between. There has to be a switch to tell the cpu when the car is idling. For example then the system would know when the ac is on, at idle it needs to step the engine idle speed up. Above idle it wouldn't matter. Throttle position switch is where I'd look.
