Yes but this also means that our cars will be worth more in the future because there wont be as many to buy.

Not a chance - if you used them for spares, it might be worth it, but if you tried to resell them, you'd have a hell of a time trying to make your money back. All of the most desirable parts (seats, turbo, etc) would be sold first and then you'd be stuck with a bunch of crap. Not worth the headache.

A note on the SUV braking comment: I am not an SUV fan at all, but I have to admit I am most concerned with being rear-ended (by any car). If you haven't had to make an emergency stop yet, you have NO IDEA how hard the Evo can brake. I guarantee that only a VERY attentive driver with good brakes could even hope to stop in time if you're being tailgated and have to stop hard. I've almost been slammed twice now (both times were SUVs). Just be careful - if someone is on your ***, tap the brakes a few times to wake them up...

^^Agreed. I am actually going to go to some less performance oriented pads next week (just for street use...i will use OEM pads at the track) for two reasons: 1) cut down on annoying brake dust, and 2) for the reason you mentioned above...the Evo almost stops dangerously quick on the road and I don't want to be rear ended.

That blue evo in west palm beach is actually a guy who was street racing and hydroplaned at like 130 or somthing hit a tree...so ya it was his fault as i recollect he was 16 years old....he lived...and learned i hope.

That car did not look like 130mph damage. I would have to see the actual article before I believed it. Stories get heavily exaggerated from message board to message board on the internet.

A 130 mph impact would kill someone and completely crush the car into a pancake. At least, I think so... How would any car survive 130 mph (unless a bird ran into it).

I don't doubt that someone could survive the crash...but the car would be in shambles. There would not be a single flat panel to be seen.
