All cars have a bottom price regardless of mileage and condition as long as it runs: Case in point 92-95 civic hatchback's are usually about 2-3k....they've been this price for the last 7 years. There are exceptions of course but thats generally the rule.
EVO is nothing special. It'd be interesting to see what happens if Mitsubishi pulls out of North America what would happen then. I don't know too many people that would want a car thats not supported anywhere.
My wife just said she likes the Endeavor too. Toyota's and Honda's tend to hold re-sale better then a company like Mitsu based on reputation of reliability. I know I wouldn't have given Mitsu a second thought if it wasn't for the EVO.
The Eclipse was like a American built sports coupe to me anyway.

Figure it this way.....
Let the price drop so that irresponsible 18 yr olds will buy and then total em. Sooner than later, there will hardly be any 8's or 9's around to buy, raising our prices once again.
look at porsche resale values....You can pick up a used Water cooled porsche turbo for high 30's....Its just nuts.
If you want your car to be worth anything you better hang on to those stock parts and keep it sub 50k miles

My 2004.5 G35 6MT that I bought for $39k sticker in Oct. 2004 is worth about $16k today w/ 68k miles. I'm gonna make sure that the next car I buy is gonna be used, and will hold its value pretty damn good.. like my '03 S2000 that I bought for $6500 w/ 135k miles, clean title, no mods.
^ I agree.
Toyota doesn't make Supras anymore, there isn't even a replacement. Supras hold value for that reason.
All cars in general lose value over time, doesn't matter what it is. Only thing thats going to make it more valuable is the rarity of the vehicle in the future.
Now we have the 10, then its going to be 11, 12, 13, 14, 15..... so fourth.
When Mitsubishi stops making Evos...... now thats when the price will retain.
So Evo prices will drop. Soon, every ricer will have one....... but one in good condition thats been taken care of........ now thats something that just *might* hold value.

If there was biblical revelation that all of a sudden made the evo into a car enthusiast mecca? Then, yes, the evo would increase in value. But at this point it depreciates just like your mama's camry.
At the rate the 8's and 9's are being wrecked and totaled, a minty 8 or 9 will still hold it's own to an educated buyer who knows what they are looking for.
one of the reasons i bought my evo is because of how well i think they will hold the resale, if you look at the older evos from japan they are still selling very high. i think the evo will hold its value over almost any late model car

a clean, unmolested evo can sell surprisingly high. but then again, how many not riced out evo's are there left? lolol
not to mention the evo 8/9's are the last of the 4g63 motor.
