what are the difference between the 2 , also how do they manage do have an out put of 300bhp compare to a 270 bhp on the usdm ?
Are the rear tail lights the same as the usdm ? im not a big fan of them and i have seen that i can install the ones out of the evo 7 (they look way nicer

the JDM lights are also the nasty altezza's like ours, i am guessing they output 301hp, via less re-enforcing/lighter, and bigger exhuast? The EVO on its own is rumoured to output 300+hp stock[was for evo VII] but they had to rate it at japan spec sheet @ 276, now with the chip after its registered i guess it just unlocks the full potential of the car for you. I guess, not sure but many mags rated evo VII around 300hp, even thou mitsu only claimed 276. Pro same with evo VIII cept now they have a 'chip' that you put in aft regulations, dynoflash type thing? to gain more HP by enriching fuel mixture?!

Most Japanese supercars are rated at 280 HP (but in reality are all 300 HP) because of a weird Japanese courtesy thing between car companies. I don't get the Japanese. If you don't believe that, read back on all your old Sport Compact Car magazine articles. Even Super Street mentions this courtesy ritual.

The JDM and EDM Evo 8s have the same altezza-style rear lights, except for the fact that their rear turn signals are amber while ours are clear. The Evo 7 rear light covers are red with amber rear turn signals. The non-USDM Evo 8s aren't restricted by emissions regulations and monitoring. They also have differing versions of the Evo (RS, GSR, etc.). The non-USDM Evo 8s also have Active Yaw Control and Active Center Differential in place of our differentials. They also have the option of a 6-speed manual transmission while ours is a standard 5.

What else? Um...oh and they drive on the wrong side of the road.

Another reason is that japanese pump gas is far, far better than ours. The cars do have emissions controls but not as effective/severe. However, I for one would like to keep on breathing for a few more years. Oh, and something like a 1 year warranty which probably gives them leeway with factory tuning..

Did anyone mention front LSD ? Truthfully when your thinking about making an engine to fit our emission and run smoothly. I'm guessing ECU, Heads, and Cams.

If you want to get into details.

JDM GSR Vs. USDM GSR

Seats, Engine, headlights with amber on the bottom, Stereo, Auto climate control, antenna, tires (r compound version), purple trim, Front LSD, ACD, AYC, and 6-speed.

And that from the top of my head.

Not to mention bumper differences.

Instrument cluster is different since the USDM Evo doesn't have ACD.

USDM Evo has rheostat dial in place of JDM's ACD button.

JDM Evo has the word "Evolution" on the right side of the trunk while USDM Evo has it on the left.

USDM Evo available in Blue By You while JDM Evo 8 available in Medium Purple Mica.
