Dealer news

I wrote one of the two dealers I am working whit in case one fails to sell it at MRSP.

He wrote me back:

"Hi Fred,

The Mitsubishi Rep was here today, I asked him about the EVO. I am
attending a national meeting 7/16-18. When I get back I should have the
spec's and advailability on the car. You will be the first to know.

Best Regards,

Bill Wanrooy / Sales Manager"

I really am thinking we will have some news soon.

I believe that will release the information at one time, for the public and dealers at the same time. My fear is that we don't hear anything from this meeting.

thanks,

Could be good. This is the part I find most believable:

If Mitsubishi keeps it up you people won't even know the specs when the cars are in your driveways.

The above is what I have been trying to say for quite some time. The dealers right now do not know ANYTHING. Period. As proven by the contradictory information I hear every_single_day from so called "reliable sources". The dealers are as ignorant and uninformed as everyone else, although they will swear they are not, and unsuspecting trustworthy potential buyers(like myself, but not anymore) will fall for the false information they continually release.

Personally I don't think any facts or truths could sway my opinion of the Evolution. Whats with all these rumors, secret meetings and a friend of a friend of a friend who knows a friend that works for Mitsubishi. I for one intend to buy that fine piece of machinery regardless of what the specs are unless ofcourse it loses it's AWD and falls below 200 HP and we all know that ain't gonna happen.

A dealer/salesman will tell you ANYTHING to make a sale, so I hardly ever take what a dealer has to say truthful. I have worked with salesmen before and they will do/say anything to sell a product, even if it means telling a lie (which they call "stretching the truth") if salesmen were truthful they wouldn't make very much money.

So I agree with you Mordeth, the dealers are clueless - but they don't want to turn down a potential customer, so they must make something up.

LMAO Your probably right; we will be calling Mitsu and asking them "How fast is my car?"

About the dealer will say ANYTHING to make a sale. This is 100% correct. I recently went to the Infinity dealership to buy a g35 with my mom. I am 16, and know a good deal about cars, so I did most of the talking. The salesman was the most polite guy I have ever met and even took us on a 1 hour test drive to nearby cities and towns. We came back, negotiated a price, added some options, discussed, financing/leasing options, figured out the payments and trade ins. The car was roughly 38k when were finished. I haggled a bit more and got it down to 34k. The owner of the dealership came out, and told me that the price would only be for today and today only. I was completely bullsh*t since I knew they didn't have to make there numbers for the month till the end of the month, which was a week and a half ahead at this time.

And damn, it seemed evident to me that the OWNER knew absolutely NOTHING about the cars HE was selling. He knew barely any specs on the g35, didn't know how it tested, no idea on the options. I couldn't believe I knew more than him. He seemd to just want to take my moms money. At this point we said thanks and left.

They need to have a salesman TRAINING program that even the high managers and owners should take. They should atleast know what kind of brakes the car comes with and some factory options.
