I do 5-10+ hour road trips on a regular basis (I'm a canyon and scenery junkie) - if you move your right foot against the side of the center console wall you can position it so keeps the pedal down with very little effort. Getting out for a stretch every few hours helps as well. I really don't miss having Cruise as I never did use it when I had it in my other cars.

Gas mileage will be way worse in the Evo than in a Civic. Do a search on this site to find the thread about gas mileage.
