164,400 miles and counting

To those of you that have may have had concerns over the 4g63 or the stock turbo no lasting all that long. Let me put your fears to rest, I have 05 EVO VII, i drive 160 miles daily just to and from work. That is in the STOP and GO traffic of Washington DC (495 and 270), I noticed last night on my way home that i had broken 164K miles. I have abused the S**t out of this car and have only recently decided to start driving her like a normal person, and not by choice.(damn those state cops)

i have taken it to the local 1/4 mile track and have even taken it off road thru the mud and anything else i could have taken it to. I LOVE THIS CAR and i will never get rid of it, she is stuck with for the rest of my days. Maybe ill give her to my kids like i am hoping my dad gives me his.

i have just bought an o2 housing and will be getting
slowboy manifold
hks cams
cam gears (still deciding)
ETC FMIC

So i am eager to see what kind of power it will be putting down once i get everything on and tuned. So if you question how long these motors or turbos last, just look at me i am had no major motor problems at all.

Sweet, you will see impressive gains with the cams and o2 housing, I say skip the cam gears in favor of stockers (longevity/simplicity) and simply port the stock manifold. You will see 40-50whp gains from the above pretty easily.

I dont understand why people think the 4G wont go the mileage? Do people not remember this is the same engine being used from DSM's since 1989?
Plenty of DSM's have this mileage if not more if taken care of properly

I will say thoguh that is alot of damn mileage for an 05 lol

I have read many threads where people have been questioning the stock turbo, or just the how long the engine will last with a turbo on it. i wouldnt have bought this car if i didnt think it couldnt handle the abuse.....

nice, im at 96k and i got 05 RS, snow/raing/sun this is my DD car. I put about 50-60miles everyday to work and back , the car is not stock, and i started moding it slightly since i got it brand new... I do not launch the car if i dont have to, or beat the crap out of it... I dont baby it neither and i still put over 300 miles to the tank lol. I think its time for me to buy DD car and do 2.0 built and im set.
