Water magic???

I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar issue. I came out one day and I had a huge puddle of water in my driver side back seat. It had rained the previous day but my windows were up and my seals weren't an issue. My seats weren't wet or anything just water on the floor. I notice that there is a bit of drops when I have AC on but I just figured it's condensation. Has anyone ever had any issue with water just showing up? or have any idea what could have caused this? Thanks. I took carpet out and cleaned everything but I thought that was wierd. Thanks all.

So I found out where the water is coming in from. It's coming in from under the drivers side bottom near the clutch/footrest. Any idea on how to get this problem fixed? Thanks all..

Got the problem fixed. Thanks gsrboi80 for the advice. it was definiately the fender grommet and sealed it up this weekend.

water is the back is news to me but here is a good suggestion to check

take off your driver's side front kick plate and see if water is getting through there from the inner fender

I parked my car facing uphill one night at my place while it was raining really hard, came out to the car in the morning with a little puddle in my passenger seat footspace. Was puzzled and mildly upset because the car smelled until I cleaned it pretty vigorously, but no problems since. But never heard of anything with the backseat

Happened to me on my 2005 VIII. Had water in the car on the passenger back seat... Never figured out how or why and we looked for leaks and everything... Nada.

water was rolling down from the front to the back making a huge puddle in the back. Is there a way to get that problem fixed? Is that a manufactuer problem/recall issue?

Same thing has happened to me every time it rains while I'm driving. The carpeting below the pedals will get a little wet. I still haven't been able to locate the source of the leak.

There are rubber gromits in the firewall as well as under the car. Check around

Ok so I saw your update here. There is a grommit in the inner fender well where the wiring comes through for all dash function. Id check and seal that grommit. It can be accessed by taking back the rear section of the drivers side fender well lining

While your at it make sure water did not effect any of the harnesses documented well in this sticky

Hey thanks a lot for the help. Did a few searches and found that couple members had the same problem as well. Saw that people asked if there was a recall on this issue but I couldn't find anything on that. Well anyhow. Thanks again.

Sometimes the water ingress is in the most craziest places... like between body panels... I would check around your A,B,C pillars and your roof (is it Al?)
Also check your RR deck around your windshield. There are like a million places for water to come in.

If after all this you still can't find it... I would pull up the carpet and try and see which direction it is coming in from.... There is a powered spray, developer, which you can spray in that area and it will get darker when it gets wet.... that'll show which direction it is coming from.....

Two possibilities 1. fender well grommet (this will eat your wiring 2. Plugged AC drain (quit parking under trees)

This thread reminds me of a story......my old Firebird had wet carpet. I knew it had to be the AC drain because it had never happened before. Instead of raising the car I decided to wiggle under. Now a Firebird is low so by the time I found the drain hose I was all but stuck - I wasn't going to get out from under with any speed. I ran a wire up the drain and, yeah, it was plugged. Out came what seemed like about two gallons of smelly brown water and all I could do was watch it douse me.
