+1 its not smart to mess with people that CONTROL your account. been banned once and gotten another warning

as for the thread spark plugs are easy. if you lived in my area i would do them for free just buy me something to drink well i do it. You have like four screws for you cover. just unplug all your cables and then just unscrew the plugs. gap your plugs along with putting the right type of grease on the ends of them and put everything back together. even if you had no idea what you were doing it wouldn't take you long to figure how to do it. i would stay away from a dealership for work on your car unless its something big that isn't easy.

the jobs are quoted but work hours, somethings pay two much for the job. i would know i work at a dealership. i know a tech that in a normal work day logged 35 hours of labor. spark plugs are one of the jobs that pays the tech more than it should for the amount of time it takes them.

A friend of a friend works as a tech at a Honda dealer, and he logs in 70-80 hrs of labor a week.. and he only works 8 hrs a day/5 days a week.

Thanks for all the tips!

I went ahead and ordered the OEM spark plugs, and I'm gonna do it myself next weekend. I think I'll take the money I'm not spending on the servicing and get a better set of tools!

I think the only thing that scared me was the gapping, but AMS said they come gapped properly when you buy them, so all I have to do is switch them out.

Which is true, but you will want to redouble check them. Sometimes they get banged around during shipping and can/will be off by the time you get them. It's just a good idea if you ask me or many other's here.

Some years ago I remember reading that the dealer had to make at least $125 for each car coming in through the shop door. Since this was a some years ago I figure that that figure has, in the intervening time, about doubled. So, your quote of $250 sounds about right.
