Only IX's you see in the US that are yellow are either converted or re-painted.

Yeah, I got me a LY 8 too and I love it. Didn't like the yellow at first and just thought "Hey, it's an Evo. Color won't mater" but I just ended up liking the color a lot. Really brightens up the night.

Anyways, don't know your budget but I'm on Autotrader for you and found quite a lot.

they dont sell LY evo 11's in the states, or anywhere. They do sell LY 8's though. If for some weird reason someone wants one.

you should get a 9 and get it painted yellow instead.. The paint will definitely be better than Mitsu's paint..

just buy a LY Evo VIII and convert it to a IX. buy a IX front bumper and jdm rear bumper and paint it, get jdm headlights and tail lights, and if you want you can replace the seats with the Evo IX Recaros. but if you want Mivec i would just buy an Evo IX and repaint it yellow. would be cheaper than swapping the stock Evo VIII motor for a IX.

What I heard from a friend, the crash beam on an VIII would make it impossible to install a IX front. Don't know if this is true or not. Just what I heard from him (he doesn't even own an Evo so I really don't believe in him).

I know for sure you can't install a JDM rear bumper because of the crash beam. You would either have to remove it (which I highly suggest not doing as someone might rear end you really bad) or make a custom beam.

As for Mivec, you can do an 8.5 conversion, which is use the stock VIII block and a Mivec IX head with IX ECU.

Personally, it'll take a lot of time and money to do a complete IX swap. Just get a IX and if you want yellow that bad, get a paint job and a very reputable place. Not many ppl have yellow IXs so you'll get noticed.
