If you could do it again

I was wondering if you guys could start over with your evo from stock, would you take the same path or would you do it different. What was your first mod? If you could do it again what would you first mod be know that you have all the info you have?

I think I would have done the same and held off on doing all the performance mods maybe until this year.

T-bolt clamps were my first mod, not counting flipping the radio and the gauges.

Honestly, I'd take the same path again - minimal mods, maximum drivability. Our IX with pretty much nothing pulls almost as much power on our local MD as cam'd IXs with multiple bolt-ons, and with better than stock street manners. With 30lbs less rotational mass, F/R anti-swaybars, the factory Bilstein setup, and a somewhat aggressive alignment the car flies around corners. Couldn't be happier.

I wouldn't have changed anything. I took my time and did a lot of reading, which educated myself on the proper first mods. I only wish that they had the "Modding for dummies" thread when I first bought my car. It would have saved me alot of reading.

It changes all the time.. Bought my first evo and went one direction with it, bought my second evo and went a different direction with that one, then changed everything and went a different direction and then now Im going a different direction. Never ends.

Next car will get a built motor first, and not waste my time with bolt ons until I have everything ready to go.

My first mod would have been paying the damn thing off, and then buying mods. A car payment gets old QUICK.

I probably should have mentioned this earlier, there's a long thread about modding regrets. Do a quick search for it. Everyone thinking of modding his Evo should read it. Good luck.

I would have done it very different, wasted too much money on making it look good and sold the parts after. I realized I was never satisfied with it, which I would have left it stock and just enjoyed it.
