I was 21 when I bought my first evo this year
Financed 15k over 5yrs and down payment of 3k. Insurance is definitely a little bit higher than my 92 gsx haha, but totally worth the money. GL!

 

Damn, a lot of younger drivers, as was posted, I would have killed myself by now if I had my Evo when I was 16.

Got my IX RS with 6k on the odometer back in July of 2007, I was 32 years old then. Plan on keeping this car for 10+ years.

 

I bought mine Oct 17 2008..I am 25 had my D.L for 9 years, I would say this is not a good first car, But I love the crap outta my G.G IX

 

i got my first evo wen i was 17.. 3 months before i got my liscense and i ended up gettin into a accident that wasnt my fault and i bought another one almost a year ago and i love it! but if ur young man just be careful its a fast car and it could lead to some trouble if u drive it like a maniac all the time otherwise go for it its a great car

 

If you do get an evo for your first car, make sure and take it easy on the streets. It is a pretty forgiving car, but you can't undo stupid. If you want to take the car to the limits do it on the track. I would suggest getting involved in local autox. Those events are usually at a low enough speed that if you screw up you wont hurt anyone or your car. They are also good at teaching you the limits of your car and how to handle it at its limits.

As for your question, I bought my IX new in 06. I was 25.

 

last october, pain in the *** but this year of driving has been time of my life.

 

My first car was an 03 S2000, but it was too small. 4-6 month later sold it and for an 03 evo, that was when i was 16. Now i am 19 got myself another evo 9 rs couple of months ago.

 

1st one in July this year... a week later got hit by an 89 chevy truck that blew thru an intersection at 60mph in a 35mph zone...got my 2nd Evo..2 months later some1 else wrecks my car.. now im about to buy back the 2 wrecked ones and get a third Evo lol crazy...

 

got mine at 17, didn't really knew anything about evos. Actually all I was looking for was an awd for this new england weather. Saw the Evo back in 05 fell in love with it. Now m 21 and looking for the 500whp. On a note don't feel like you have to prove every a..hole that your car is fast, that is when trouble stars.
