i bought my VIII in spring of 2006 after reupping and returning from a 6 month tour in bosnia. it was 32k, i threw 10k down and traded in my 05 mazda 3. paid it down to about 8k two years later and for some reason i bought a truck. i was a twenty two year old specialist when i bought it. it was expensive to maintain but i'd take another one in a heart beat, hence in about a month im looking at some ix's in the kentucky area.

I just bought my evo about a month and a half ago. I'm 18 1/2 years old. Coming from experience, DO NOT get an evo as your first car. i would be kicking myself now if i had an evo two years ago. The motor in my first truck now makes hardly any compression, I crashed my sister's car about a year ago and i have gotten minor speeding tickets. learn to drive safely and think about what you do before buying a fast car. God only knows what kind of shape the evo or myself would be in if i had it when i drove like a retarded 16 year old. But, that's just my 2 cents. Do what you want.

I am 16 and had my low 12second evo for almost 2 months now, started off with a 330ci. Been around cars all my life and should be in the 11's very very soon all i need is a bigger hotside or ported hotside and should be easily in the mid 11's or low 11's

My question for all these young evo owners WHO PAY FOR IT THEMSELVES....Do you regret spending all your money on an evo?
I myself am 20 and have been obsessed with the evo since it hit the states. I signed to lease a 3 series at age 17 (lease is up in February) and 100% regret not buying an evo from the start. With all the money I have paid for this lease I could have had an evo more than half paid off. I guess the point I'm getting at is that I hate myself for dropping all that money on this car...Do any of you hate the fact you dished out all your money for your evo? (In my eyes if I would have bought an evo I would be completely happy right now)

Got my evo 7 only a month and a half ago and loving it. Never owned a turbo before and the power is amazing. Maybe if i was 16 i would have thought it would have been a good idea at the time to own an evo but now that im 26 its not such a good idea to own such power that young.

I got mine last August, I was 19, i'll be 21 in February, these cars can definitely be a handful sometimes, I love it to death but when something needs changing its usually EXPENSIVE! You definitely have to respect the car too, if you don't it'll bite you in your ***!
Insurance for me is around $313 a month... thats on a clean record too only ticket i've ever had was a parking ticket haha. Never been in any accidents either.
