Name that part!
Name that part!
Lets play a little game called, "Name that part."
I just picked up a used mr at a dealer. It had a turbo timer and exhaust, and everything else looked stock. Intake looked like it was never removed and the exhaust manifold bolts have not been touched.
Anyways, after taking out the turbo timer I didn't want, I noticed this weird knob thing hidden away behind the steering wheel.

It has no visible brand name on the switch and the wiring "box" thing it goes to does not either. At first I thought it was some pos electronic boost control, so I checked the stock solenoid and turbo, everything running like it was stock.
Mess around some more and see it has some wires running behind the dash. I turn the lights on and start to turn the knob and it dims and brightens the lights. The blue option is white, the green option is a shade of green.
Anyone know wtf this thing is? And why install it?
I would like to know what brand it is or something about it before I removed it and fix the wiring.
A plus, I didn't think about it at the time, but I noticed it had a sensor precat. Turns out I have a wide band sensor. No gauge though?

This is stock. Very plain. Maybe too plain. It's like Mitsu never gave different LED colors a chance and went full orange. Hell, when I'm too tired, all of the numbers blend together and it's difficult to read just because of the orange.
Those actually look good. It's better then having everything orange. Hell, even the red line is orange.

They are growing on me, but I just don't like how it was installed. Nothing seems like a clean install and it was all just hidden back. I will probably rewire some of it to make it how I like because it is all I have for now. I absolutely HATE wire clamps. I solder everything I wire.
I might take them out and sell them if I can find some OEM stuff.
I have the red ones on my car from the previous owner. After doing some work and getting ALL of my lights to red the car looks great on the inside. I prefer red for its kindness on night vision. All in all I love my kit.
There's no need to display the control unit. Mine was installed out of sight already.

I think they look okay, but I don't like the ricer dimmer switch. Personally, I am an OEM looking kind of guy.

Wanna switch then? I don't know how to wire them up though. Don't know where we can get instructions either.
Pretty basic install. Remove the cluster with a stubby phillips head. Remove front acrylic cover of cluster, slip on the faces carefully, run the wires out and down near the steering column (hardest part). After that reinstall cluster and hook up the inverter. Should be a power and ground that needs to be hooked to a key on power source from either a fuse tap or existing wire.
