Get more posts (50) and post something in the NW section. I know of some nice cars in CA too.

BTW - I also have known people to use some app that searches multiple Craigslist locales and have found cars that way as well. Can't recall the name of the app.

Me personally, I'm going for the IX. I won't even give the X a 2nd look. Never liked the looks at all. IX FTW!

Will be posting up WTB to see what I catch

somehow the X and new STI keep growing on me even though i hated them both when they came out. yet everytime i see a picture of someone who just modded the exterior / engine it seems more appetizing. im never selling my IX but if i had to start all over again an X might be a more reasonable option at this point.

I would say evo 9 .. you'll be able to break 400whp easy on stock turbo also.

Searchtempest.com or craigshelper.com. Both websites lead to the same site so it doesn't matter which one you use.

And yes, I do agree that this little website does make searching for a car a lot easier.

It looks as though most people prefer the IX over the X. Would most people recommend the Evo IX or the MR edition. I heard something about the 6 speed transmission having problems?

There's nothing wrong with the six-speed other than that it can't handle as much power as the 5-speed. The best model to get is the IX SE which comes with an aluminum roof, interior upgrades, and the 5 speed transmission. The only thing really 'missing' from the IX SE is the MR suspension.

Either way though, if you're going to really put the screws to it whichever one you get doesn't really matter because you'll want to send the 5-speed transmission to Shepherd Transmission to get the EVO VIII 3rd/4th gear setup for the better ratios. You can send the 6-speed transmission to Shepherd for a 5 speed conversion (with the good gear ratios from the EVO VIII) and drop it right back into your MR.

Ouch for Noize, but that's a pretty strong vote for the IX. Also, as expected, I would recommend the IX over the X, as would most here. Especially since this was posted in the Evo I - IX section.
