Installed HKS Carbon-ti, HKS BOV, and AEM Intake
Well, I installed my Exhaust, intake (sort of) and BOV this weekend. A few issues came about:
1. HKS BOV - This went in fairly easily, but you have to jimmy rig the mounting hardware, since the piece is designed for a right hand drive EVO. The place they tell you to mount it to is on the opposite side of the engine bay.
2. HKS Carbon-ti Exhaust - No problem at all. Very easy and looks great. I love how it is not much louder than stock.
3. AEM Intake - This was the biggest pain in the butt. The first problem - Removing the stock piping that connects to the turbo. The clamp is almost impossible to get to. Second - This unit is designed to use the stock BOV. Because of these two issues (and I ran out of time), I ended up just using the filter from the AEM intake and left my stock tubing. It works fine, but it doesn''t have the shinny polished tubing. Once I get more time, I will go back and try to put the AEM tubing on.
My questions are:
1. How do you get the clamp off the turbo?
2. On the AEM intake, there is a inlet that is supossed to go to the BOV, but with the HKS BOV the tubing is caped. Do I do the same thing with the AEM?
I appreciate the info on this.
Thanks,
Justin

Get a smaller hand with a midget philips screwdriver and try to unscrew it. The bolt is hidding under the turbo. Wear gloves if available (prevent cuts from sharp edges).
You only have to do this once. When you reconnected the clamp, make sure the bolt faced up so you can have access to it later in the future.

jsut plug the dump tube, another helpfu lthing would be to plug that pcv tune as well and trace the line back to the valve cover and run a catch can or filter. That will eliminate oil in your IC pipes and IC

Don't get me wrong, the exhaust is definitely meaner sounding. I'm just glad it is not as loud as the DC exhaust I had on my Type R.
The car seams to be pulling better, but it's to early to tell. Once I get the Downpipe I think more power will come.
