The biggest question I have for both seller and buyer is if either of you had the intelligence to OVER INSURE or INSURE the lip in general in case something like this happened. It's a few measly dollars to have a lip completely compensated for by the logistics company be it whichever one it was.
I hsd the lip insured when I shipped it out, I called UPS and they won't even consider a claim without the box. So something so simple could have been resolved had the buyer kept the box, now he's trying to unload the thing on me claiming I sent him a damaged lip.

and on a side note the OP opened up a paypal claim against me so if they decide in his favor I have no idea what's going to happen to my account, i've never had to go through something like this with paypal.

Why the hell would the buyer throw the box away? That would be his evidence! That smells like a scam right there! I bought parts from AJ a few times before with no issues! He is a stand up guy! He is not interested in making enemies! The friggin' box was INSURED! This all could have been eleviated if he kept the box! WTF!

AJ's car is more parked than driven...That thing is his 'baby'! He has a second car that he drives daily. If you knew AJ, you'd know that it would be impossible for him to scam someone! That's NOT his lip!

OP seems to have pictures of damage. Can we get screenshots of date those were moved onto your computer? If I opened a box and saw that my item was screwed up I would've taken shots of the piece right next to the box that same day to prove u just took it out of the box and it came damaged. The pictures you posted seem to be outside already instead of inside the house. If the item was damaged from the start why take it outside? you couldn't take pictures inside the house? Let alone throw away the box? If it was damaged why wouldn't you just leave it in the box so u could start a claim and ship it back?

There is a super easy way to tell if it was broke during shipping. Are there pieces of CF loose inside the box? If not then it was damaged before you got it.

If you ask me that was 100% damaged before you got it.

Seller is a liar and a thief, get a refund or a partial refund back.

The only reason I started this thread was to get people's opinion if they thought the lip was damaged due to shipping or not, not to see how many people love and "back-up" AJ. I wasn't even gonig to mention who the seller was. I just wanted feedback from the community.

The reason I threw out the box right away was because I just moved in to my new house with my girl and still had my parents address on my paypal account. I have purchased and sold many items here on evom and have never had any problems. The box was in fine condition and the lip was wrapped in bubble wrap so I thought everthing was good. He told me there was NO damage at all? Why would I keep a box that was in good condition? Thats wouldn't prove anything to the shipping company regardless if the lip was damaged or not. I can't fit a box that big in my EVO, so I folded it and put it in my p's recycle bin and put the bubble wrapped lip in my car to take to my new house. I never even thought about keeping it cause nothing like this has never happened to me.

Listen I'm not trying to scam anyone. I can't scam anyone because it will be up to the seller to refund me or not. If I was trying to scam I would have kept the box or even smashed the box to make it look like UPS messed it up. I was just trying to get a lip for my girls MR. I tried back in August to get another used one which also turned out crappy. I offered the guy $20 more than he was asking, he accepted and I sent the money. He then backed out and sent me the money back minus the 3% payapl fee, it then went through another 3% fee so I got the money back minus two 3% fees and no lip.

The pics he posted are just not detailed enough or at a good angle to see the damage. CF is hard to photograph, thats why I took it outside to get some good light and reflections. I couldn't even get good pics of the damage so I had my brother (Boltz. here on evom) take them for me. If you take a close look at the "close up" pic the seller sent, you can see some light scratches at the end and some possible damage at the passenger front point where hitting a curb or whatever could have been possible. Remember too, thats probably not the only place that his EVO was ever parked!

Oh and ya, tchouko. You're so right. I put the lip on my car for one day and smashed the crap out of it to try to get my money back. That make total sense. I send someone $, throw the lip on, smash it, then try to get my money back. Real smart idea. Wow.

I know I'm not getting any money back or am able to return it cause the seller is so sure that all the damage was from shipping. Even though there are pieces missing on the top of the lip that were NOT laying around in the box or bubble wrap.

I'm just stuck with a used $325 lip that was a gift for my girl and is a total piece. Live and learn. Should have asked for more detailed pics. I was just excited to get one for her car. Too bad.

Evo-slow, you can take this up in the Scam thread if you wish. But lacking the box - hard to prove all the damages where from shipping.
