Angry Asphalt WTF!!!!

I went out to pick up a pack of smokes and get some lunch. The parking lot where the cafe is just had the entire place repaved with asphalt last monday. I pick up my lunch and left the parking lot, I didn't notice anything cause I was driving 2-3 MPH. The second I got on the road and got my IX to speed (30-40 MPH) I heard terrible clunking and banging noises from underneath my car. My shop is only a mile away from where I got the food so I got to my parking lot quick. When I got out of my car the first thing I did was check the exhaust because I thought a hanger broke off and the exhaust was loose or something of that nature, everything was fine. I did a quick walk around my car and notice all 4 tires were covered in asphalt
Looks like a good 10mm layer of asphalt all over my tires. I tryed to remove it from the rear left tire and ended up with one large hand full of asphalt! The other tires are still covered in asphalt. What should I do? How do I remove it without messing anything up? Should I complain to the shopping center?

Very strange. Was it hotter than normal out?

This sounds like the best idea:

Were there any other cars in the lot? Good thing you didn't park there for too long, your car could have been swallowed whole!!!

Should go back and see if anyone else there had the same problem. Hard to believe the construction people would let anyone drive on it that early. Not only could you yell at them for the damage to the car, but their work on the lot is almost ruined and the tenants will prob be pissed...

My tires are new so it's stuck in pretty deep, what a pain.
I can't wait to get home and clean my baby up. It's on the bumper and a little on the side skirts.....I wonder if thats bad for the paint? Oh man this turned out to be a mess I hope I don't find asphalt anywhere else.

Tons of cars on the lot, vons and McDonalds are on the same lot.
As recent as 2-3 days ago the lot was closed off so I was avoiding the area. When I drove by today and saw it open I thought I'd walk in and pick up a gyro sandwich. On my way home I'm going to drop by their office and complain

I would definitely be getting all the asphalt off ASAP. You don't want that to stick to the paint too long. It could stick to it and chip the paint off when you go to take it off. Use tar remover and such to get all of it off. Make sure to soften it up before removing so you don't remove any paint along with it. I would take pictures of the damage and complain. Just in case something happened that you don't know about yet. Play it safe. Good luck.
