Never noticed any real increase. Though I could really give 2 ***** on what kind of gas mileage the evo gets. It's a 35r powered street beast. It wasnt put together with gas any concern for fuel efficiency

Oh and too add I actually sawzalled it in half to make it fit cause our dumpster was full at the time

An undertray has all sorts of benefits including less front-end lift, better MPG, better airflow through the engine bay (i.e. cooling), engine protection from road debris, and less cabin noise due to reduced turbulence.

There is no reason to remove the factory undertray when doing an oil change.

Then you're not very attentive or in-touch with your car while driving it After putting a tray back on my car I noticed a definite high-speed stability improvement along with less road noise. They also force more air through the intercooler and radiator since less can escape underneath with the tray there. Also, had my friend had one on his car (he does now after this incident), his crank pulley wouldn't have been busted off by a piece of ice in the road that bounced up.

WOW. Not in tune with my car I like that.

My ex has an RS and I would put hers on and off when working on it. Driven it both in multiple situations w/ the tray on and off. No difference highway cruising or high speed stability. But then again i'm not in tune with the feel of a car so that could be the reason

I agree with you 100% that aerodynamically having an undertray does have its added bene's but for my street car I have never seen it

Right now my car has an aftermarket front bumper so I was thinking to get a one piece metal tray made for look and lower bumper support. But will make sure ease of removal and installation are 1,2,3.

Thanks man.

Not sure how that would do with the aftermarket bumper. But I have family and friends in the auto restoration and metal work business so something custom should be no biggie. Good discussion

yeah, but it's a pain in the butt, when doing a coolant change.. or if you have catch cans in the area.
I finally, took my (2nd) undertray off. the only difference I ever noticed, was the front end was not as stable at about ..... 90+ mph. Since I never go that fast anymore, and have been taking the bumper on and off, I figured I'd roll w/o it for a while.

My IX MR SE was missing the undertray and when I installed it it seemed like it didn't fit. Now it all makes sense
