I wont break this down to the minutia as this is not the place for it.

But in general, your communication is aweful. I've been in the car on no less than 4 occasions when he has left you a message which either wasnt returned at all, or took a week or two (usually 10-12 days) to respond.

Your last message (about 14 days later) was suspiciously the day after I posted up about problems with your services...... "r u getting my messages?" He got every message you sent, and none of the ones you didnt. Which is to say, very few.

His standards might be high, but simple things like masking off the back of the light should be a standard internal control procedure. (Again, not going into minutia)

I did the lens paint on my taillights......and I would have to say "less is more." Don't over-coat........it takes a long time to sand & buff out if you want to start over. Having done the lens paint, though.....I would definitely recommend painting the housing instead.......better look IMO.

Just finished mine. These lights weren't in great condition to begin with so I definitely used them as my test dummies. The whole process isn't overly hard (although it is a bit tedious), but it definitely can take a set or two before you get the process down and not mess stuff up.

The lights you sent me that i redid again WERE the ones i sent you sorry. additionally i am sorry the replacement set i sent you didn't have all the clips and i sent them out to you the next day after talking to you...you act like its my fault why this has taken so long.
This is a lot to respond to Dave - but I will do my best to state the facts and that is all. I have our correspondence emails (saved cause I've been burned by some vendors before and always ). I will keep to bullets as this is a bit of a long drawn out story that some may not want to read through.

Started April 20th 2009 and sent core charge money to you. You stated a week or two to get the lights

May 23rd, received lights - missing clips and very light red or pinkish in color - not RED like the old ones. (had to convert all missing clips over to the other set and sent old ones out)
Wanted darker and you would take a look at old ones and see what you can do.

June 13th wrote you to get an update since I didn't hear anything yet. You responded with another customer paid you for Evo7 tails so I should send the ones I have (Light red tails) to this customer and once you receive his pair you'll send some others out to me. Mind you still had my entire deposit and I did not see right in that.
We went back and forth here on money sent, lights, etc.

June 14th was the last I heard from you as you said there is no way you would send me out another set for exchange claiming I would have $600 of lights and you would only have my core charge. Which is what happened before when you sent out the first set I got (lighter pair) and I sent back my pair in exchange. I wrote back same day explaining this and didn't hear from you till June 25th.

June 25th you said you were having some troubles with repainting and working on selling your car. You would contact me later when you finished them.

August 22nd I wrote you again not hearing a peep. You responded with you now have it done and told me to send mine in. We went back and forth again on the fact I paid you a core charge to not have my car down and you replied with the fact I would have two sets of light - again questioning my integrity and that I would have both sets of lights and possible keep them both. This is no different from the first time I paid you the core charge and you sending out the original pair back in May.

August 24th I wrote a long email explaining everything again as you didn't quite remember my situation cause it had been such a long time.

August 31st you wrote me back stating you didn't want to read what I wrote and gave me your number to call.
I called a few times and left messages to call me back. After two weeks I got a call back but missed it and returned it promptly to only get the answering machine again.

September I emailed twice saying I've called and left messages.

October 5th you write back and say you've been busy racing the last three weeks and to call the next day and you will answer.

Second week in October we talked about the lights and I finally agreed to send the pinkish lights back to you and wait. Sent Lights to you that week in which they were received. I requested that all mounting clips be transfered over before you send me back the darker set of lights.

November 5th I get the lights which don't look like my originals I sent you (which you swear they are the same exact ones) and they were both missing mounting clips and two sets of bulbs are burnt out.
Left light housing looks brand new (no dirt, spit clean and non painted wire harness) but had broken tabs where the harness is held to the housing, cannon plug for the wiring harness is broke and no longer attaches to the housing, missing the clear plastic breather, and is a visible shade darker.
Right light housing looks like it's been on the car for a while, painted harness (like all the other ones I've ever got from you).

Now you explain to me the reason the tabs that hold the harness and the cannon plug itself are broken is because you remove the wire harnesses and it's not easy to remove. Not true if all the other lights I've got from you have ALL been painted. At one point you did change and say you remember that you needed a harness from one of those and that's why it was different, but those are my original lights I sent.

In ending I simply was impressed the first set I got from you as they were both the same color and both RED - not pinkish. The housings I received were in perfect condition and nothing was missing from them. Also your communication was great. Based on that I got three other friend to buy your lights as well.

This time however was a very disappointing experience as the lights weren't the color I expected (as other friend got the same color I originally did), next set wasn't evenly colored, items were broke off or missing or burnt out, my integrity was in question, and the QA for this was just shoved out the window from my view point.
Seriously Apr - Nov is WAY too long and I have been overly patient and understanding with this transaction. This should have been dealt with in the first two months.

I'm not satisfied with everything that happened and if I were to do it again I wouldn't.
However since this thread started you have now been in communication with me again - refunded some of my money and all I'm now waiting for is for you to send me out the last missing piece - the clear plastic breather.

I will then write this off and be done with it. Last thing I asked for was to let me know when you send out that last missing piece.

What counts now is there is a story from both sides.

Joey

Joey,
you know your making a huge deal about something and making me and my business look bad over some bulbs clearly i would have replaced and some clips i did send you and replace and the paint not being the EXACT color you want...i hope everyone reading this doesn't take this as me screwing him over cause that was never my intention and i always planned on making this right once he sent me the other set of lights and i did...period.

on to my end of the story....

first off you say there is a broken tap....its a little clip for the harness plug NOT something that does anything for mounting the light or anything as you imply basically there is NO importance to the clip so i just yank the harness off when i get lights rather then spend 10 minutes trying to get it off normally to brake it anyway (trust me i have dealt with it 400 times lol). I am going to make this short and sweet....the last set you got from me was 2005 back then i had different procedures now i pull all the clips and the breather plugs off tails when i send out sets thats why both sets you got off me were missing them (like you said the first set you were just able to swap everything over like everyone else does). Now the second set obviously i forgot that you didn't have the core set and so i sent you the parts asap. Additionally you say i questioned your integrity...you sent me $250 to cover shipping of the set and some of the $ and i was refunding you $150- the shipping . i normally charge $280 for a whole set shipped if someone bought a set outright and so clearly i was trusting you but i couldn't send you an addtionally modified set cause then you woulda had almost $560+ worth of lights which i couldn't do ....having one stock set and one modified set is different. The wait for the set of lights was originally because you said you didn't want to send me your other set back cause you needed the car so we waited till you could then long time later i couldn't jump and get you another set right then so i finally decided to re-modifiy your old set since i couldn't locate a spare stock set and didn't want to make you wait. i know i didn't always get right back with you but after taking months for you to get me the set i figured you weren't in a hurry (not like you were without lights) you were without lights that were as dark as you wanted. here is a pic for everyones info so they can see the set i sent him that was apparently way to light (if you look through my pages of pics on fotki.com you will see these are how i have been painting them for years

here is the set you sent me back that i repainted even darker then original so you were happy (these are the darkest i have ever made a set for sure)

here are a few other examples from over the years

I don't think he's gonna tell you that part dude. I had mine amber ordered through my brother so I don't know where it comes from. It DOES exist though.
