I heard if you only remove one of the springs it will make one side sit higher and eventually warp the trunk from having tension on only one side? I have a Seibon trunk and I'm taking it to my body shop to have them align it. They've done it before but they said mines was more off than the last Seibon trunk they did for an Evo so we'll see.
I have only 1 tension spring hooked up and the side with the tension does sit higher. I'm going to remove it and not have any tension springs on it. I'm not concerned about the trunk staying open. I will prob either buy the lancer springs or the hood props...not sure yet
That's why I always ride around with someone..........one person inside to pop the trunk, one outside to grab it & lift it up and hold it up until you are done. It's ingenious I think.
Definitely gonna try the dampners, though. Have them on my CF hood & I love them.

I adjusted the lower/bottom latch and now when I pop the trunk it opens but you still have to lift it manually. It doesn't stay up, but I can pop it from inside the car and just walk around and it stays open. I will leave it like this till I decide which route i'm going to go...
