I'm trying to get some ideas on a custom cage for my Evo. I know that Most Wanted's cage from AWD Morotsports is the SICKEST but that baby cost big bucks! Let's see what you got so I can get some ideas! Thanks!
all cages are going to be expensive if you want it done right.
My car is going in at the end of January to get the cage, chute mount, and driveshaft loop installed and Im looking at about $3k. You wont get a good cage for cheap.

Salta Motorsports in Denver builds really nice cages that are legal for most any series.
Check them out if you get a chance.
www.saltamotorsports.com they are a rally car company for the most part and great guys to deal with.

depending what you want to do... that is a firs step.
drag - autoX - Time trial - door to door racing - rally etc.?
This will be a main factor , and then you can start looking for different set ups.
Not every roll cage qualify every events and so on.

and for the overall caging process, it will be even more.
I had a 6 point welded cage in my civic hatch and it change the way it handled soooo much stiffer and better for racing. i wish i could afford one in my evo but its my dd.
Even Cusco have a good bolt in cage. /not the car show one /
Of course the Auto power is the favorite one here, little biased in the US but works. There are two reason i would consider that one if i where you. Made in US, and that is why also easier to get approved in the US...

You see where the biased coming from when i said it?

If you got a good approvable bolt in, they are just fine. Another good things about them, after crash easier and less messier to change the damage part.
NO repainting -welding and so on and so fort.

There are a couple very meticulous racers in Denver who TIG their own cages for their SCCA race cars. Lots of research, and lots of experience. One has a 3000GTVR4, the other a widebody 2G. They're building a cage for a 1G right now, for competing in a fun cheap series --Chump Car. If you want to get it touch with them for ideas, PM me, or look on CODSM or RMDSM.
