Did someone say to put plastic wrap over the filter are you kidding?Unless the filter becomes submerged in water it won't hydrolock!

I've never had mine on the car either. There are a couple people selling theirs in the 'For Sale' section for around like $40. If you search undertray in there, they should come up for you

I read that the under tray helps with aerodynamics I think AMS did a test on them and also our undertrays have veins that guide air to cool our brakes, I noticed less air and road noise with it on than without it so from now i keep it on.

You will have no problems. The under tray is an aero part helps reduce lift at high speeds by making the bottom of car more streemlined..it works well with the JDM bumper and the rear under tray that you can get (aftermarket).

So basically what you guys are saying is that it's totally fine to daily drive in the winter with no undertray.

And here I just ordered a Beatrush aluminum undertray. Should I wait until spring to install to keep it mint?

Like me you will get a nice build up of road crap in the bumper..just knock it off after driving. But you are in Chi...so perhaps put it on.

In the winter it could be a different story. It will keep a lot of the salt from getting on a bunch of the engine parts so you will most likely have to worry less about things rusting as fast. I think I'd throw it on there when you get it IMO

That's why I replaced mine when the original was shattered by a groundhog's noggin. There's a thread on here from a guy who had a pulley seize up on him. He believed his lack of undertray was a contributing factor.

you should have no problem at all with the undertray removed.

The undertray is an aerodynamic part that helps with the stability of the car. You can start feeling the effects at 60 but the effects are more noticeable at higher speeds like 80+. There are channels in it that help direct air to the wheels to cool the rotors and calipers. It also prevents road debris, dirt, and water from being splashed up on everything in the front engine compartment. This becomes especially important in the winter with gravel, sand, and salt (depending on where you live). I keep mine on but I am totally going to replace those @*!@& fasteners with quick fasteners.
