2006 EVO IX dim headlights?

My stock headlights are super dim, 70,012 miles and never replaced. I can barley see at nights on certain roads. I went to autozone to check out some replacements but I'm not sure if these are right. This is what I found....

Silver Star Ultra headlight
Part # 9006SU-2

Application: Low beam
Without HID Headlights

Bulb type: Halogen

Color: 4100K

Filaments: 1

Wattage: 55

Are these the right ones? I don't want my evo to catch on fire cause I used the wrong stuff lol Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Thanks bro!
Did you notice a big difference between the OEM bulbs? Also is it hard to install?

Not really that hard, but time consuming. They are nice bulbs, I've run them on a few cars and always been very happy with them.

anything with 9006 in the part number will work cause evos use a 9006 h/l bulb, and yes silverstars are really good headlights.

Or for 65 bucks you can have wicked HIDS off DTM.
I had Stockers, then Phillips, and Silverstars, and just threw on the HID's.

Its a night and day difference man.
Im never going to use normal lights again.
Best investment imo.

silverstars are far too expensive and their life isn't as good as it should be for it to be worthwhile

just go to HIDs

Question about the HID's?
So do I just get a set of bulbs and thats it? Will I neeed some kind of expensive kit or what cause I thought IX's were not set up for HID's....

Thanks

The base IX (like I have) have the nice globe lens or whatever you call it, perfect for HIDs. No it is not just the bulbs, you need is a complete kit. It's a little extra work but waaaaaay worth it.

another option is HIRs... I got mine from John Deere. They are brighter than stock, but not as bright as HIDs. They supposedly don't pull the amps that silverstars do, so they do not pose a risk to your wiring harness.

Thanks

I was checking out that site and found this: DDM slim ballast HID kit 35W & 55W http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=101&parent=85

Is that the right one? I assume I should go with the 55W?

You can find plug and play kits for the evo. I'm sure there are vendors on here that could sell you one. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe the 35W is for low beams and 55W for highs. I only got the lows and I don't really NEED the highs but I still WANT the highs .
