Evo 8 Recaro Seats Mit Service Recall??

Anybody have the information, heard that they have a service bulletin out for the evo 8 03-04 cloth seats. I guess the side bolsters are known to break and the seat covers get very loose...

it has to be under warranty for them to fix anything. fortunately, mine was still actice when i went in for the service. it took about 30 mins total.

I dont think warranty matters with a "RECALL". On our 99 ford windstar van we have had 3 recalls in the last 2 years and all we had to do was take it to the dealership and they fixed it with no problem.

A recall and TSB are two totally separate things. A recall is a madatory fix that Mitsu is required to perform by the government, a TSB is an instruction sheet for the dealership to fix a problem recognized by Mitsu as common that they'll fix for free under warranty or with good-faith after warranty (good luck).

There's a couple threads about this problem too. Most people just take it to an upholstry shop and have them fix it.

+1

I don't think upholstery shops can fix your seat if it's actually "broken" on the sides. But a local shop fixed mine when the driver and passenger sides came undone. I forgot how much it cost me. I know it wasn't much though.

Well I think the recalls are only good for a certain period of time after the recall was announced. I thought it was 10yrs.

The right side bolster in the drivers seat is broken AND the left side bolster in the passenger seat is broken too! I wonder if I should call the local mitsu dealer to see if there is info on a recall...
