4g63 evo , 4g63 gsx/talon ?

Hello ,
newbie here , I'm confused , I own a '03 evo 8 and was looking for engine parts
online, but every time I type the engine code "4G63" it comes up for all three
car , the Evo 8 , eclipse gsx , and the eagle talon.
I notice that the Evo 8 engine is bit far off to the left side of the engine bay and the timing gears are on the left, on the gsx and talon , the gears are on the right.

Can the parts be use on either one ?.

both are 4g63 motors, but look how the intake and turbo and everything is on the opposite side- dont buy eclipse parts for your evo. To make things easy you should shop where they have evo specific parts, and probably in your case being new to evos go with staged upgrades until you learn more about what to buy and what not to- check out buschurracing.com and look at their staged upgrade packages, take some time exploring the newbie section of this forum, lots of good threads for people like you who are new to the Evo and not quite sure where to start

There's a few different generations of the 4g63. 1st gen. has a 6 bolt motor and 2nd gen has a 7 bolt. These were in the Eagle Talons, Plymouth Laser and Mitsubishi Eclipse. They have been used in other vehicles too. The DSM 4g63 6 bolt motor is stronger than the DSM 7 bolt. The internals are different. (There's a whole bunch of differences but I don't feel like typing a novel.) The evo has a 7 bolt 4g63 but as you have already noticed, it is turned in the opposite direction. Some parts from a 7 bolt, 2nd gen. motor can be used on an evo 4g63. I could write all day about these motors but there's really nothing you would want to use on your evo. Just stick with Evolution specific parts and you will be good.

For example , google 4g63 and it comes up with evo,gsx/talon powerplant.
Is their a way to lookup only on the evo engine?.

True but I learned that vendors here in this forum most of the time overpriced
their items. If look elsewhere will give me a better bargain price.
Not only that , I also want to repair the engine without referring to gsx or talon
engine.

So why not type evolution 4g63 or something to that affect? I don't think the vendors on this forum are over priced.

just please remember that an evo is not a honda, it does take money to mod an evo.

The best parts for the evo usually have a price tag because the amount of R+Ding the product and such also goes into it so you make sure your getting the most for your money.

Or at least thats what I normally think when I think something is a lil pricey. LOL

Dude hate to tell you this but I call them about a quote to have my headgasket
replace , they charge me a whopping $1500 just to remove the head block , total
to the parts would have cost me around $2500.
Last time I check with them about their labor hour is bout $60 per hour ,I called them
back about it and they claim never heard of it , and that the labor hour is and has
been $100 and hour.

Here is the link of list of vendors and their statements.

I THINK I understand what you were trying to type....and if you called AMS and they told you $1500 to replace your head gasket there must have been a misunderstanding. You said they want $1500 to remove your "head block"...not sure what a "head block" is, because the head and the block are 2 separate things. TTP, AMS, ETS, Buschur...the list of very credible vendors that are on this forum goes on and on. If you cant find something for your EVO on here, you dont need it.
