Thumbs up Autozone Mobil 1 and quick question

Just stopped by and if anyone is interested I bought the 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 10w-30 and the Mobil 1 oil filter M1-110 for about $32. The jug alone is $28.99 and right now they are doing a special promotion where you get a Mobil 1 filter for free (up to $11.99). Since it is $12.99 for the EVO they discounted $11.99 so all I paid for the filter was $1.

So my quick question was is it absolutely necessary to change the crush washer when changing my oil?

I went through 3 oil change before replacing the crush washer so it is not really necessary.

Good lookin out neighbor. I prefer walmart at about 24 for the oil and oem with a crush washer for about 7.50. But you might be lookin at a special drive to fairfield or Roseville for the filter. But ya a new washer is more an insurance for a good seal but you could reuse the old one.

If you are tired of replacing crush washers, you should look into a Fumoto valve. Makes it easier and I hated that the washers cost a grip.

Walmart for the Mobil 1 5-qt jug (varries between $22-24) and a OEM Mitsu filter for ~$4.50 is the way to do it. I've never replaced the crush-washer, I know I should and always did on my S2000, but after over 3 years still no drips, leaks, or even seepage.

That fumoto valve is slick!! I really don't find it to be a problem getting out a wrench but would be kinda cool to be able to just turn a valve.

I have done 12 oil changes on my IX and probably the same amount on my VIII, when I had it, and have only changed the crush washer once. As long as you don't over torque it it should be good for a while.
