Wastegate
Yo was up everyone! i been looking for a thread about what is the best wastegate to use on your evo and i could not find one. What i'm trying to do to my evo is to the max out of my turbo and my stock wastegate isn't holding the psi, it's going like back and forth like 20-22, 22-20. I was looking at the forge wga, but dont know how much psi it can handle. I'm trying to run like at least between 25-30 psi on my stock turbo. So any advise will be helpful! thanks
i have a tial 38mm but its a lot of work to do what i did heres the link see what u think https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ock-turbo.html

only benefit i would see to going external on your current setup is if you plan to upgrade to a tubular/cast mani in the future that utilizes an external setup on the runners. you dont have to buy a buschur one for 175 now, and then sell it with your turbo and buy a tial for 200+
i don't like how open dumps sound on evos.. assuming if thats what you would do

yes d-bo, i'm planned on upgrading my turbo in the future, but just want to upgrade the wastegate first, then my turbo. i have the money for a wga but not a turbo yet. i know that the thread title is wga, but with the bov, i'm trying to decide between the jdm evo ix bov and the aps. i heard that evo 9 cand handle up to 25psi and the aps can handle up to 30+.
you dont need an external gate. a strong internal gated actuator is more than enough. look at FP's site they have 25psi actuators. I guarantee its not going to open the flapper prematurely on a stock evo turbo if it doesn't on a gt35r comparable turbo.
