what did you use to clean the maf?

 

could have been a ic pipes leaking causing it to stall. Always make sure every clamp is on the
right spot and tight.

 

You buy maf cleaner at almost any auto parts store. Make sure it's for maf's though. Alot of cleaners not made for it can damage them..

 

Cleaned iacv with maf cleaner as well as the inlet and it was fixed for good!

 

I have the same issue, but mine was after I installed a Greddy RS BOV. My idle is crazy as it drops to almost 0 rpm, but it's only stalled once on me. I found a few people who know about evos and they told me to tighten some bolt on the BOV to help with idling. I hope that works, and hope you get your issue fixed.

bumping this from the dead, just in case anyone else has this problem.

I was having this exact problem. It started after putting gas in my car. I thought it was bad gas, checked that, it was good. The idle sucked, and would only stay running if i throttled it.

My freind looked at it, pulled a vacuum line, and the car started idling like a champ.

He told me it was the idle air valve. Hes got every spare part for an evo you can think of at his house, so he got it, replaced it, and no more problems!

 

Help please! I have an evo 7 just woke up after not using my car for 2 weeks and idle got really rough rpm goes up and down at neutral. So first steps are to check egr and boost leaks?? Next are? Please help thank you!
