Cars not starting

So im not one of those guys that acts like i know about cars but i just want a little bit of reassurance in my diagnosis

so i just got the battery moved to the trunk and i have been driving it fine no problems for 4 days now, its a full size battery

i drove the car two hours prior to when this happened and it was fine, when i got in, it just wouldn't start not even turn over the starter doesn't even click all the lights come on bright as hell so its not that and we swaped battery's and the same thing happens

its just a small electronic hum when you turn the key all way

so is my starter broken or does this sound like a bigger problem

Check to make sure your connections on the battery are tight.

jiggle your ground, even if its tight, loosen it and jiggle, retighten. Try to jump it, if it starts with a jump, you know its the battery or something in that arena. If not, then you can probably look at the connections under the hood. Maybe your wire gauge is to small ? Lots of issues it could be, im sure none of them very serious

other possibility is when you ran the cables to the trunk, wire cover was cut somewhere and it short out which blew a fuse. check all fuses

your connections are fine if your lights come on, sounds like you are missing a connection to the starter or the starter is bad itself. Put a volt meter on the power coming from the starter and make sure it's live and also check the signal wire going to the starter. it should read 12v while cranking. Sounds easy but it will narrow down/ solve your problem.

Check your fuses on the factory terminal. Have meth? If you do you may want to take a 1/2" ratchet and make sure the motor turns over. Had a friend with meth, have a contoller failure and the pump never shut off. Hydrolocked the engine.
Not to be a ***** head, but if youre not car savvy to fix certain issues, you probably shouldve kept the battery in its factory engineered location.

Check connections. Check current to starter. Check fuses. If lights come on then the battery is good and your getting current, most likely starter or fuse. That meth problem sounds interesting, but seems like a unique problem that would be rather rare. The humming could be indicative of a few things, too small of a gauge wire, starter humming because its burned, could be a few things. Is the humming coming from a specific area under the dash? hood?

Good luck

There is a wire that grounds the alternator i believe that can sometime fall to the back of the tranny area... is that not connected possibly ?
