did you try push starting the car? if you can push start it and it starts up then it is the starter, Or connections with the starter.

Did you check all your fuses? Make sure to double check ALL your Electrical connection. Positive and Negative. If starter not clicking its not getting power, or the relay is fried.

Do you have your Clutch switch disabled?? Car will do nothing if that switch is not released. (unless you disable it, so it can start like an automatic)
Also notice that your CEL stays on.. isnt it supposed to go of after a few seconds.

I know you won't like this answer but the fast way to fix your problem is to move the battery back to its original location or get a mini battery kit. GL

sounded like the little clip (not the one that screws on) that runs to your starter came off, but you said its coming from the back of the car.

Is the wires that you have running to your battery damaged or scared up allowing it to ground out on the heat shield under the car?

starter solenoid ...

if you are under your car looking at your turbo out pipe... the little aluminum piece between that and the tranny is where the starter is at. I believe it is 2 bolts, one really long one and short one holding it in place. Last time i took mine off what when we did my clutch so i dont know about just taking it off by itself.

starter is easy. did mine without jacks. 2 size 14mm Bolts takes about 30min full install time.
Remove LICP, size 12 bolt for the power on the starter, remote switch just pulls off, and thats it. Slide it out, and place the other back in.

The place i bought my start from sent me one from a Lancer, so i just pulled the motor from it and placed it on my stock unit. Works Perfect.
