i havent done homework on any other filters other than WIX, Mobil and AMSOIL's EA , all these are very good synthetic medias that have high capacity's to filter small particles and still stay alive for a long time.

the thing is that for the price you pay for OEM you can get WIX filters and still have a good sythetic media filtering capacity 10-12 microns, i also like WIX because i can buy my cabin A/C filter my oil filter and engine air filter all at the same time,,, and its American made for those who care

i will like to look into purolator, i know fram is pure junk as we all know on these forums.

The Puralator PureOne is good. Some random guy did a test once and bought almost every filter available at the autoparts store. That and the Mobil1 was rated among the best. However, he suggested the Puralator was a bit restricting due to it's filtration device compared to the Mobil. I like the Amsoil EA myself.

I been using Denso filters here lately.... I think they make the filters for mitsu but not 100% on that. They seem to do fine either way. I change my oil and filter every 1500-2000 miles anyways. AMSOIL FTW.

The Orange frams are junk cardboard end caps, crappy filtering media.

The X2 line has all the good stuff double ply synthetic media materials, silicone anti drainback valve, metal screening, backing, large capacity etc.... Def on the top of the list of the best out there

I use a Mobil if I can not find the X2

I may look at WIX next time. Checked out their site and looks good,

contaminants larger than 25 microns. Also larger % of smaller particles.
Silicone anti-drainback valve
"Glass enhanced media" captures more of the extremely small 10-12 micron sized particles

PureOne
I recently did an oil change on one of my vehicles and I'm pretty sure it's also made here

Has a nice textured gripping surface
PTFE treated sealing gasket
Silicone anti-drainback valve

Only thing I never knew was their replacement recommendation: "Purolator PureONE oil filters should be replaced every 3,000 miles or 3 months depending on the driving conditions - or unless otherwise specified by the vehicle's manufacturer."

I didn't see any mention of replacement recommendation on WIX's website.

May go back to Mobile 1 and maybe check out Bosch filters again.

What do you have to base that comment on?
Any top shelf oil is going to be good enough for 95% of the people on the road.

Fyi people K&N and mobil 1 = the exact same filter internally with the only diff being the 1 inch nut on the end and the holes for saftey wire.

Wix,K&N,Purolator,Royal purple,Amsoil are all very good filters that will do what you need them to do.

Short of the thread is Stay away from garbage oem filters if you love your car.
Will your car run for 70k miles on an oem filter? Yes but how much wear on the engine has a lot to do with how the oil if filtered and what type of oil is used.

This should be your warning for using oem filters and if you choose to still use them after the info that has been provided in this thread, You may do so but if you need an overhaul because of premature engine wear, I know a great engine builder

Purolator Gold aka PureONE are better than WIX in my opinion, but I still prefer OEM Mitsu. I use the PureONE filters on my wife's WRX since the Subaru filters are junk (made by Fram). If you're a fan of WIX filters the MicroGuard (O'Reilly's house brand) filters are the same thing for a few bucks less.
