I have the exact same problem. There are cables behind the knob mechanism that are getting kinked and bind. A friend of mine who can fix anything on our cars looked at it for a few minutes but actually couldn't fix it... Evidently it's a very involved process to fix it right -- that's why other's have had it happen to them again after the dealer "fixed" it

. I'm hesitant to take it to the dealer for the first time but unless something comes up on this board I might have to.
