Transmission Problem?
Transmission Problem?
Hey guys, this is my story. I went down to oregon to a friends house. In the morning he took my car (2006 evo IX mr 33k miles) and went to pick up some parts. I recieved a phone call that he was driving and as soon as he took a turn he was shifting into second gear and it would not go in. so he pulled over and tried againd but the car wont go into any gear....so I went to where he broke down and assumed that there was not enough brake fluid becuase my brakes got bled the other day. turns out it was low on fluid. so I added more fluid and tried to bleed clutch on side of road but nothing was going my way. So I got the car towed to his house and we kept bleeding it with different techniques and finally got the clutch pedal hard again. But now when I put the car into gear and try to drive it makes a grinding noise as if though the clutch is barley grabbing. It goes into any gear but does not grab, just makes grinding noise. oh and the clutch does turn a little bit softer when the car is running than when the car is off... My clutch was not slipping before this or anything...anyone have any idea whats going on, clutch, transmission?? any input will help..Thanks.
sounds like a clutch/pressure plate issue to me. Its not engaging, the transmission wouldnt just take a crap like that, def. sounds like a clutch issue. Wait for more people to chim in to get 2nd opinions.
And not for nothing seems like he was probely beating on your car for something like that to just happen
